There's a nationwide program that teaches women easy, yet strengthening, exercises to build their strength. Come join us to be part of it on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 am.
Most exercise involve a chair. You may add weights to increase the effects of your exercise.
Friday morning about 12:00 you will probably see smoke rising behind the Rec. Hall. Come on down about 4:00 p.m. for a social hour. Talk fast because about 5:00 p.m. the grill goes on the pit and it's time to cook. Bring your meat, side dishes, drink, and utensils. There will be a big pit of baked potatoes for everyone. Volunteers provide the fire and potatoes each week.
Every Friday at 1:00 pm, our painters get together and set up at the Rec Hall to finish up their paints. We may have a painting class going on some seasons. Bring your own paints, canvas, and whatever else you need. You are welcome to just come in and what them work. We have oil painters, watercolor painters, acrylics painters, and pencil/charcoal artists.
Do you play an instrument and/or sing? Bring your music and sing for us! Maybe you do clean stand-up comedy. Dancing? Reciting? Impersonations? Come and share your talent! The 2500 card game is held every afternoon at 1:45pm. This is a very easy card game to learn. Like one lady said, "If you have 3 minutes, you can learn it." It's a fun game. We laugh a lot and it's a very good way to meet new people. Any number can play so come and join us.
After our Social Hour around the Fire Ring, stay a while and enjoy some of Sea Winds awesome talents during our Karaoke Hour! Find something in our files or bring your own music. We are all here to have a great time. Come to sing or come to listen, it's all good. Volunteers are welcomed!
Were you born with two left feet? Maybe just grew up dancing to a different beat than us Texans. Want to learn to dance Texas style? Class starts Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. At 8:00, time to practice what you've learned! We start the juke box and it's a dance every week!
For Pilates you will need a mat and stretchie band. It is a 30 minute class:15 minutes on the mat, which is very good for the legs and hips, then we do 15 minutes with the band. All exercises are done on the floor.
One lady had arthritis really bad. She loved Pilates, it made her feel so much better that she wanted to do it 5 days a week!
The class will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:00 a.m.
Clogging is a hillbilly dance that lets you have fun while you exercise your feet. We clog to all kinds of music. We start with basic steps and will gradually increase to meet your ability. We preform during open mic nights. No clogging or tapping shoes required. All you need is a can-do attitude! You are welcome to just come and see us practice too! Check your schedule for days and times.
Whether you would just like to learn more about your grandparents, or have a family tree the size of a redwood, join us Wednesdays at 10:00-12:00 Dec-Mar in the office building "meeting room". Exercise your curiosity and detective skills.
We share FREE genealogy websites we've found, research hints, and try to break through those "brick walls" that make one branch of our tree stubby, Much of our research is online so some variety of portable computer is recommended... or bring paper to take notes.
The SeaWind quilters meet every Thursday at the Rec Hall from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. . . .or until you feel like leaving.
Everyone makes their own projects. They purchase their own fabrics then they are invited to use the cutting and measuring equipment the group has purchased. Everyone usually has their own sewing machines.
We share friendships and the love of quilting. We assist anyone who needs help with their project whether it is understanding a pattern, layering a quilt, or any other help. We welcome other ladies who do any form of sewing, crocheting, knitting, or just sitting and visiting.
Purchases of fabric and other supplies can be made after arriving at SeaWind and deciding what your project is going to be.
We have a quilt show in February to show off our work. What an awesome event!
Every Tuesday night @ 5:30 pm get ready to eat. Bring your favorite dish and your utensils. Of course you know--calories don't count this time. Share a dish that feeds 8-12 people. (Condiments alone are not considered a dish for sharing.)
The Winter Texan Gun Club meets Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. on the range within the park. Safety, fun, and friendship are enjoyed by all. Our events include country doubles, regular doubles, crossing quail, and singles. Ladies are welcome.
We also welcome all skill levels. There are no joining fees, no club fees, but there is a fee that includes the cost of the birds. You just bring your shotgun and shells.
We provide assistance upon request, if you're a little rusty.

Game nights are a favorite here. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 6:30 p.m., it is time to play. Everyone gets their own table together and plays a game of their choice.
Sunday night is ice cream night. Give us $1.00 and you have 3 scoops and various toppings. Just see who can make the prettiest sundae. Bring your favorite bowl and spoon or cones.

Monday and Friday morning from 8:35 to 9:00 come to the Rec Hall and walk to the aerobics tape. Get as strenuous as the old bod will allow.
This is a video class, where an art instructor teaches everything about drawing, from basics to expert. Class meets on Saturdays at 1:00 pm. Bring your own paper and pencils. Two are teachers are present to assist the video and give you the upmost attention to your work.

Anyone who is interested in playing/learning the game of shuffleboard is welcome to attend our weekly gatherings @ 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons. All equipment: pucks, sticks, and courts, is furnished by SeaWind RV Park, so you need only to bring your happy face and good attitude to participate in our fun.

Strength & Stretching class meets @ 8:00 am on Tuesday & Thursday mornings. You should bring your own mat and stretch bands to this class. Erik recommends the bands that have the handles as they seem easier to hang on to during class.
The class is open to everyone regardless of age. It will limber you up so you will feel more active each day.
Each month, SeaWind ladies get together for a "women only" luncheon. Each month, we pick a theme and a main dish. Ladies are encouraged to dress up and make new friends. Usually on Mondays at 11:45 am. Sign Up to say what you will bring to our food table. Bring your own plates, utensils, and drinks.

Come join the Jewelry Making Class on Wednesdays at 10:00 am in the Rec Hall. Bring your supplies and your creativity. We have fun, learn from each other, and have a great time making beautiful items. From beginners to experts, all are welcome!!
Yep, we play Texas Hold'em every Tuesday starting at 6:30 pm in the Rec Hall. Come join us and try your luck and strategies. We usually have a Texas Hold'em Tournament in February.
Saturdays at 7:00pm the SeaWind "Theater" (back room of the Rec Hall) dims the lights for a feature film on the big screen HDTV.
Sometimes, instead of a movie, we'll have a concert or a dance.

The poker players meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. We start at 6:00 p.m. and play until about 9:00 p.m. It is dealer's choice for the game with nickel, dime, and quarter stakes. Some of the games we play are 5 card draw, 5 card stud, 7 card games, Omaha, etc. We do NOT play any games with wild cards.

Wednesdays at 1:00 pm Southside of Rec Hall. Horseshoes is open to those who have played before, and those who have never played but would like to learn. It is open to both male and female players. Sometimes there's a dozen people, sometimes just one. Invite your friends to join you!
Thursday is the day to test your luck. Get your bingo cards for $1.00 each. You can purchase as many as you want. If you have a bad luck card--trade it out. Roger will be calling the numbers. All money taken in will be given out as prizes to the winners.
We also sell 50/50 tickets and ice cream bars! Come have fun!
Bridge is open to anyone. Those who are experienced players will play together while the new-to-bridge people will be in a learning class. They may also watch better players to see the mechanics of the game and view the strategies employed.

If you love to carve wood or bark, or if you just want to give it a try, come meet with us on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the Rec Hall. Bring your piece of wood and your supplies. We share techniques and laughs. We display our works of art during the Arts & Crafts shows.
A variety of personalized instructions for beginning and intermediate line dancers.
Monday and Friday from 9:15 to 10:00 the music will play and the folks will dance. Beginners and Advanced--we accept you all. Each dance will be demonstrated. It is more fun. We laugh as much as we dance.
Line Dancing Expo will occur most years in Feb to show off your new dance moves.
Have a hearty Texas Breakfast on Saturday mornings 8:00-8:30 am. There will usually be eggs (made your way if possible), meat (sausage or ham), bread (toast your own), and potatoes (if any available). Volunteers may provide specialty items like pancakes, oatmeal, donuts, etc. Please check sign-up sheets to see specialties. Bring your own table service.

Our Bible Study is held Tuesday mornings at 10:00 in the Rec Hall during January & February.
We welcome all denominations. It doesn't matter if you know the Bible well, or have never read it. Our main objective is to learn more about Jesus. We allow time for various discussions and prayer requests.
The topics vary, and you will feel welcome to come into the study at any time during the 2 months.
We feel blessed to be able to share and care for one another as well as the needs each may have, including the needs of our neighbors in the park.
SeaWind partners with Local charities to help out our community that so graciously greets us every year with open arms. Our main charity is Threads of Love. Our residents get together on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm to create blankets, burial gowns, caskets, and prenatal support items for the NICU in Kingsville.
Threads of Love is also working with several community organizations in addition to the hospital in Kingsville. These organizations offer SeaWind residents a variety of ways to be involved with out local communities.
Driscoll Children Hospital, which can use Chemo Hats for children of all ages. It’s best if they are soft and stretchy.
Women’s Shelter in Kingsville needs socks (any size or color) for women, children, and teenagers. Remember there are boys who are at the shelter with mom. They also need some things we already have, and we’ll donate those as well.
St. Gertrude’s Community Outreach in Kingsville needs things that can’t be purchased with food stamps (toiletries ie: toilet paper, tissue, towels, soaps, deodorants, toothbrush/paste, female products, razors, creams, lotions).
St Gertrude’s is the designated church for Kingsville and provides services to anyone in the community, regardless of religion.
NAS Kingsville can always use diapers for military families with infants and toddlers. They also need some things we already have, and we will donate those as well.
There will be collection baskets in the Rec Hall Dec - Feb. If you want to contribute any of the needed items, you can drop things off at the Rec Hall, or bring them to the office.
